![]() ![]() The paper shows how the software was designed, includes flow charts and sample print-outs, and discusses two design examples. The software can be run on any IBM- compatible personal computer with a compatible numerical coprocessor and graphics adaptor. Cross sections or graphs can be seen or printed at any time by just specifying the name of the data file during a run of Plot or Graph. The programs can be linked, so that they can be used for both design and drafting in one run. Plot and Graph accept IRC: 37's output data files as input data files. Graph displays or prints histograms from the observed traffic data for: (1) axle load distribution (2) proportion of damaging effect and (3) gross weight distribution. Plot, also written in Fortran 77, uses the Plot 88 graphics package library to display the cross section of the pavement designed by IRC-37. The pavement design program IRC: 37, in Fortran 77, has interactive data entry, input checking, and warning messages for data outside their limits. This paper describes three computer programs, that have been developed to assist the design of flexible pavements using the Indian code or practice IRC: 37-1984 and the CBR method or equivalent axle load concept. It does not store any personal data.COMPUTER APPLICATION IN PAVEMENT DESIGN BASED ON IRC: 37-1984 ![]() The cookie is set by the GDPR Cookie Consent plugin and is used to store whether or not user has consented to the use of cookies.
